About the Project
The Norman Bird Sanctuary, a 300+ acre wildlife refuge, wanted to take their programs to a new level by strengthening and expanding multi-day programs and making the most of their resources. To do this, they were seeking $2.2 million to restore the 250 year-old Paradise Farmhouse into a nature retreat center that would support expanded environmental education programming for adults and families. They hired 6 Square to assist in their messaging, promotion, printed materials, and website redesign.
Objective: By creating buzz around the Farmhouse, the goal was to motivate the community, and visitors to Norman Bird Sanctuary, to donate monies to help in the "green" and sustainable renovation process.
Results: After working closely with Norman Bird Sanctuary to clearly define their mission and goals for the project, 6 Square implemented a campaign to build awareness of the Paradise Farmhouse, and the importance of its restoration. Through a groundbreaking ceremony, media tours, and a targeted message, 6 Square quickly landed local and regional media hits in both print and television. To date, Norman Bird Sanctuary is successfully moving through the renovation process through the monies raised.
